We are committed to matching the right pet to the right family so all will have many happy years together. Our adoption process includes the completion of an application, phone interview, veterinary reference, adoption fee and contract. The standard adoption fee is $450 (dogs) and $300 (cats) for the Northeast Adoption Program and varies depending on the pet for local adoptions. If you're applying through the Northeastern Adoption Program (we will deliver the pet to you via a USDA-licensed pet transport service), once your adoption is approved and you have committed to adopting, you will be invoiced for the adoption fee via Paypal. Because the pet is removed from the adoption pool once you make a commitment to adopt, you must pay the adoption fee within 24 hours of receiving your invoice or the pet will be re-listed for adoption. If you are not committed to bringing a pet into your family at this time, please do not return your application. We have limited staff and limited resources and we prefer to invest our time working with families who are ready to commit to a pet. If now is not the right time for your family, please contact us when the time is right and we'll be happy to help you find the right pet for your family! You must be at least 18 years old to submit this application. The application is the first step in the process, and the fastest way to begin the process is to submit your completed adoption application via e-mail to [email protected] You can copy and paste this application and return it as a text document attachment to your e-mail or in the body of your e-mail.
